eLEARNING DEVELOPMENT

FROM INSTRUCTOR-LED TO WEB-BASED CONTENT.
CONVENIENT.
PORTABLE.

WHY eLEARNING

World Globe
GEOGRAPHICALLY INDEPENDENT

Quickly develop and deploy policies and procedures, compliance, and software training to your employees, contractors, and volunteers all around the world.  You no longer have the issues with logistics such as gathering a number of your employees into one location to learn a new policy.

MESSAGE
CONSISTENCY

With instructor-led classes, it is nearly impossible for the message to be delivered the same way across different classes.  With e-Learning, memorializes your message and objectives, and if the course is accessed 5000 times, the message will be the same way 5000 times.

LEARNING

With e-Learning, your learners can take the courses at their convenience and complete the course at their own pace. Learners can leave the course and then return and pick up where they left off or begin again. Learners do not have the pressures of grasping the concepts before moving on as is often the case in instructor facilitated classrooms.

Content is available when scheduling is optimum for the learner and the needs of the business.  Gone are the days when you have to take large groups of your associates away from their work areas to complete the required training.

SCORM COMPLIANT

In today's world, information is power, and in the learning industry, this fact is no exception.  SCORM is an acronym that stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model.  It provides the industry standard way of communication between the training content and the learning management system (LMS).  For example, have you ever seen the text "Course_Title" in the browser title bar of some course you were taking?  Or have these words appeared in the Training Activity Details section of the LMS to describe some course you are currently taking?  Well, they are there because the course_title tag in the manifest file is not correct.  We correct it by editing the XML file containing that tag.  We are experts in correcting errors in these communication files.

We have many years of experience working with major learning management systems including Workday Learning, Cornerstone, SumTotal, Blackboard, SabaCloud, Success Factors, and Moodle.

SECTION 508

So often training organizations "skip" the process of making sure the training can be consumed by associates that need a little extra help learning the concepts.  Let's face it, any training dollars spent on course development is mostly being done so because a training need has been identified and stakeholders are expecting all impacted employees to learn the concept. How are your users living with visual or hearing challenges supposed to learn if the training is not built to accommodate their need?  The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)  requires that people of all abilities have access to learning.

In today's world, developing training for these associates does not present the issues it once did.  Training organizations no longer have to build one course for one set of employees and the same training to accommodate another set of employees.  The implications of that concept create all kinds of negative connations, and thankfully it's not necessary today.  At Web-Based Training Essentials, we can develop training that meets the Section 508 Standards.  Even if you don't currently have associates with sensory challenges in your workforce, are you prepared should a visually or hearing-impaired person is hired?

We make proper use of Closed-Captioning and alt tags so that ALL consumers of your content can enjoy the content.  The lack of capable learning should never be a reason why someone can't grow.

Narration makes e-Learning content and messages more appealing.  Professional, high-quality audio narration engages your audience.   It adds instructional value to the visuals on screen.

There are generally three types of e-Learning narration. Detailed narration provides the actual training message and the text on the screen "bullet points" the narration.  Pithy narration is the opposite of detailed narration.  The narration "bullet points" the text on the screen.  The text on screen provides the actual training message.  Finally, the Descriptive narration describes images and other assets on the screen only.

There are many ways to add narration to any e-Learning course.  Many rapid development tools, such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline partner with Neospeech to offer text-to-speech (TTS) voices.  These voices are great if your organization does not have the budget to hire professional voiceover talent.  We work hard to make these voices sound as conversational possible with the effective use of voice text markup language (VTML) tags.

We can also partner with your team to record the content that can then be added to the training course.
